The presence of god7/19/2023 ![]() When we place our faith in Christ, He saves our souls from death. The 5th and final way we will enter the presence of God is to receive His salvation. Most times we won’t always get it right, but we can trust that God is always with us no matter our circumstance because as believers in Christ, His Holy Spirit dwells within us. You don’t have to perfectly practice all the spiritual disciplines to enter the presence of God. The Bible tells us that “God is near the broken-hearted” (Psalm 34:18) and that He is “an ever present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1). We can enter God’s presence when we believe His promise to always be with us. Jesus promises: “I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20a NKJV) The fourth way we can enter the presence of God is to believe His Word. It opens our hearts to God’s presence in such a powerful way that it can change the atmosphere, circumstances and hearts alike. That’s what makes praise and worship so powerful. I’m sure some of you watching this have even had some serious praise sessions in your car, cleaning the house, or even in the shower. You just need to take the time to praise Him. Now you don’t need a conference to praise God and experience His presence. ![]() By the time I got to the conference room door, the presence of God was so thick you knew without a doubt God was there. My heart stirred, my senses arose, and goosebumps covered my arms. The closer I made it to the praise, the more I could sense the presence of God. As I walked through the hotel hallways, navigating my way to the ballroom, I could hear the praise and worship echoing through the building. ![]() When I attended my friend Kim Cash Tate’s conference a few years ago, I was a little late. We can believe and know that were there is praise to God, there is God’s presence. Psalm 22:1-3 says: “But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel.” (Psalms 22:1-3 NKJV) The third way Christians can enter the presence of God is to praise Him. When we agree in prayer with others, we are guaranteed God is in the midst. It opens the opportunity not to only talk to God, but to dwell in His presence. Jesus tells us in Matthew 18:20: “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:20 NKJV) The second way the Bible instructs believers to enter God’s presence is with corporate prayer. Seek Him with the expectation to find exactly what you are looking for because God promises His presence to those who look for Him. No matter what you are facing today, I challenge you to look closer and see how God’s hand is still moving in your life. Often, we assume that because we don’t feel God, He’s not present, but that only causes us to close our spiritual eyes to seeing God in the midst of all our circumstances both good and bad. When we are overwhelmed with challenges much like the Israelites in Jeremiah 29, it can be difficult to feel God’s presence, but God promises that when we seek Him, we will find Him. Jeremiah 29:13 says: “You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13 ESV) ![]() The first way we are instructed how to enter God’s presence is to seek Him. So how do we enter God’s presence so that we can experience all these benefits? Here are 5 ways: 1. God’s presence gives joy (Psalm 16:11), rest (Exodus 33:14), contentment (Hebrews 13:5) and so much more.
